Embark on an exhilarating 2-day journey to track the magnificent desert elephants of Damaraland, departing from either Windhoek or Swakopmund. Led by an experienced guide, this expedition promises awe-inspiring encounters with these gentle giants amidst the rugged beauty of Namibia’s desert landscape.
Day 1
Our adventure commences as we depart from Windhoek or Swakopmund and journey toward the captivating landscapes of Damaraland. Along the way, you’ll witness the dramatic transformation of the terrain, transitioning from urban surroundings to the arid desert vistas. Upon our arrival in Damaraland, we’ll set up our camp, nestled within the heart of this elephant habitat. As the sun dips below the horizon, we’ll gather around a campfire, sharing stories and immersing ourselves in the sounds of the desert night.
Day 2
Awaken to the enchanting sounds of the desert as we prepare for a day of tracking desert elephants. Under my guidance, we’ll embark on an exhilarating quest to locate these majestic creatures within their natural habitat. You’ll have the privilege of observing the desert elephants’ daily routines, learning about their behaviors, and capturing their essence through your lens. Our encounters may extend to witnessing other desert-adapted wildlife, such as oryx and springbok.
After an awe-inspiring day of tracking desert giants, we’ll pack up our camp and bid farewell to the desert wilderness, carrying with us the memories of our unforgettable elephant encounters.
